Laura has built and operated several puppets, creating characters from the more traditional foam and faux fur, to more unconventional items like socks, papier-mache and recycled plastic waste. She also has experience in puppet maintenance, fitting new mouth mechanisms to existing puppets, and colour-matching paint to disguise repair work. She has created everything from squirrels to peanut butter sandwiches, and loves to work with directors to create something unique. She has operated 3-person, marionette, 4-legged, rod, hand, 'muppet' and mechanical puppets. She also utilises her considerable skills in animation to assist with puppetry direction. Having worked as an animator and puppeteer for over four years, the principles of animation are easily applied to both mediums. In 2022, she also completed the advanced puppetry course at Little Angel Puppet Theatre. Video Reels: Video reel is a compilation of movement, aerial and puppetry, including both professional performances and R&D / practice work.
